Conference background:
Sponsored by the China E-Commerce Association, “China International E-Commerce Conference” has been successfully held for 10 times up till now and has aroused extensive attention from all social sectors. The Conference has been under the support and direction of the relevant state departments, and in the meantime has attracted active participation from various industries, academic research institutes and renowned companies. The past conferences had focused on the exchange and discussion on a wide range of topics including e-commerce creditworthiness, business standards, personnel training, success models, innovation in application, laws & regulations, investment and financing. By summing up the experience of the development of e-commerce in China, showcasing the latest technology and application in e-commerce, making success case studies, probing into the approach for promoting the e-commence development in China, making proposal for the future development of e-commerce and pushing the continual improvement of the e-commerce environment, the conference has aided the e-commerce development in China.
After being approved by the Ministry of Information Industry, “the 11th China International E-Commerce Conference” will be held at BeijingInternationalConferenceCenter during April 18 – 19, 2008. The State Council Informationization Office, National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Information Industry, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the General Administration of Customs and the State Post Bureau have all been invited to act as the directing departments for the Conference.
2008 is the Olympic year. Beijing Olympic Games will move Beijing faster in the construction of the tech Olympics and the “Digital Beijing”. It is expected that the new technologies will be widely used to get the digital network technology more widely and deeply involved in the entire course of the games, and the internet-based information technology will help people to have a closer tie with sports. In 2008, it is expected that any one at any time and any place can have safe, easy, fast and effective access to the affordable, language barrier free and individualized information service. In addition, Beijing will pioneer in a fully digitalized time in the country with the informationization application including e-commerce and digital community becoming more mature and the telecommunication networks, digital TV and direct broadcast satellite meeting the world’s advanced levels. People may use the network at home to search the Olympics related information and enjoy the vivid sport scenes, so the commitment on the construction in informationization and application of the e-commerce will be fulfilled.
As an important international event taking place before 2008 Olympics, this Conference will earnestly study and implement the essential points of the 17th Congress of CPC, combine the ecommerce development with the actual practice, carry out the concept of scientific development in accordance with the Electronic Signature Law of the People’s Republic of ChinaOpinions on the General Office of the State Council on Accelerating the development of Electronic Commerce and the “11th Five-year Plan for the Development of Electronic Commerce” to promote the concept of "technological Olympics and e-commerce”, grasp the opportunities brought by the Olympics and accelerate the development of e-commerce in our country. The theme of this Conference will centre upon “opportunity, innovation and harmonious development”, with the emphasis lied in the hot topics of technology Olympics, e-commerce and its development in the forms of theme speeches, special forums, e-commerce technology and the exhibition of new achievements. The Conference will invite government officials, experts and entrepreneurs to share their new ideas, models and experiences with us.

1. Opening ceremony and the main forum:

The organization committee will present prizes to the outstanding e-commerce enterprises, excellent websites and the business elites based on their application, public survey and professional assessment.
5. Call for papers
The Conference will invite e-commerce related papers. Appraisals will be given by experts and the distinct papers will be collected in the Conference Papers and presented on our official website.
